Double Puc Cafe is a friendly independent cafe in the heart of Bristol. This role is based at a New site we are opening within Wake the Tiger in January 2025.
Our approach to hospitality is friendly, warm and personal. Our ethos around food and coffee is high quality, freshly prepared and well presented food and speciality coffee.
Summary of Position
As Cafe Manager, you are responsible for the overall performance of your cafe in terms of customer experience, team culture, quality, training, consistency and profit. This will include the in house cafe and our catering clients.
You should be fully competent and confident in the workings of a cafe. From delivering fantastic hospitality, managing the bar and in supporting the team as and where needed.
You will, with training, have a complete working knowledge of all front of house and back of house systems including Rocket OS (our hospitality operating system)
You should support the kitchen manager in the diligent management of stock and ordering and in ensuring compliance in H&S and food safety practices.

Hospitality & Service
- To deliver warm and memorable hospitality which makes customers come back for the team just as much as coming back for the food and drink.
- To ensure the smooth running of the days service, from making sure that dishes are going out to a high quality of ingredients, taste and presentation, to making sure that wait times are reasonable and the team is working in a friendly and efficient way.
Food & Coffee
- Passion for food and coffee and the ability to enthuse others around our product.
- In-depth understanding of our menu and all the correct methods of production and service.
- A sense of confidence and pro active approach to maintaining standards across the menu (food and coffee) by praising the team when things are great and raising concerns when something doesn't look or taste right.
- Ensure that all food and drinks that are served to customers is made to the highest of quality and presentation standards.
- Ability to assist across all areas of the kitchen if needed in an emergency.
Leadership
- Create a positive work environment within your store and between stores.

- Lead the team in a clear, consistent and fair way, ensuring the smooth running of the store on a day to day, week to week and month to month basis.
Management
- Help manage workload effectively across the site so that the cafe is calm and prepared, even at high volume periods.
- Delegate effectively so that daily tasks are done to high standards and in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all H&S requirements are met and that Best Practice Methods are adhered to, in order to maintain our 5 star rating.
- Lead in conducting accurate and regular stock-takes.
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of the back of house paperwork and HR systems
