The Marketing Assistant supports on production and coordination of Creative Youth Network content and communications to engage target audiences. They help deliver Creative Youth Network’s communications strategy and are responsible for maintaining the charity’s social media presence, engaging core supporters with meaningful newsletter campaigns, while sustaining the charity’s media presence.
This is a temporary role for approx 1-2 months – we are looking for someone that can start as soon as possible. (No later than 27 June 2022)

Main Role / Responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to]:
Website:
- Assist in maintaining and updating the Creative Youth Network website
- Maintain the Creative Youth Network media library by filing and tagging digital content
- Forward enquiries, course sign-ups and ticket sales to staff members
- Monitor SEO and web reporting
Social media:
- Assist in scheduling posts via Hootsuite
- Design graphics using Canva
- Share engaging content on social media and encourage online conversation with staff, followers and potential partners
Newsletters:
- Assist in creating a monthly newsletter via Mailchimp (training provided)
- Maintain and oversee newsletter subscriptions
Events:
- Support staff in branding and social media aspects of events
- Assist in organising internal events and give support with external events
- Meeting event participants and giving information about upcoming opportunities
- Promoting Creative Youth Network at events in Bristol and relevant areas
- Assist with designing and printing leaflets to promote Creative Youth Network events
Public relations and PR
- Assist with researching and drafting press releases and support their sell in
General:
- Assist staff to ensure the Creative Youth Network brand is used correctly both internally and externally
- Support with administration for the communications and fundraising team
- Maintain case study library
- Maintain communications and marketing schedules.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
EXPERTISE SUMMARY:
- The post requires a good level of knowledge of social media
- A reasonable standard of education is required to do the job but a professional qualification is not required
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Familiar and comfortable with the social media landscape
- Demonstrable experience of social media including Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook
- Well organised with good time management
- Excellent IT skills, including using MS Office and database packages
- Able to give and receive feedback constructively
- Excellent literacy skills including drafting style, attention to detail, and accurate use of the English language
- Accuracy: having an excellent ability to process data without errors
- Flexibility: having a flexible attitude to all work activities and work arrangements
DESIRABLE:
- Evidence of ability in editing and handling images
- Experience with using design software (e.g. Canva, Photoshop, InDesign or Affinity)
- Experience of using content management systems
- Experience in copywriting
- Experience in working with young audience
