Retail Store Detective (plain clothes) - Lidl
Pay rate: £14.90 per hour

Mitie is looking for Retail store detectives who can deliver exceptional customer service whilst creating a safe shopping environment, free from crime and the fear of crime for customers and colleagues.
You must hold a current SIA licence or valid SIA certificates (licence can be provided) and a full 5-year checkable employment/education history.
Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Work to the Assignment Instructions ensuring that all activity is accurately recorded on the correct documents, in line with both the Client's and the Company's Quality Procedures.
- To follow the site-specific Risk Assessments ensuring all activities are completed in a safe manner.
- Set and maintain the highest personal and professional standards as an employee of MITIE and adopt a total quality approach to every aspect of your work, colleagues and clients.
- To create a safe working environment, free from crime and health and safety related issues for colleagues, contractors and customers.
- To add a polite greeting and excellent customer service.
- Provide a visible security contact for colleagues, contractors and customers.
Main Duties:
- To deliver industry leading customer service.
- To be clean, tidy and properly dressed wearing full uniform.
- To deter violence and public order offences.
- To conduct patrols of the store.
- Utilising CCTV systems to support the reduction of crime and stock loss.
- Liaise with the store management teams.
- To report incidents and crime through our leading technology.
- Liaise with the Police and crime partnerships where required to foster a great working relationship to support the reduction of crime in store.
- To wear Body Worn CCTV to support in the reduction of crime and increase colleague and customer safety.
Who are we looking for?
- Experience of delivering Customer Service.
- Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
- Adaptable communication style to meet the needs of different people groups.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving services business.
- Capability in the use of technology.
- Good attention to detail.
- High level of enthusiasm and passion.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
- Public Space Surveillance SIA licence is desirable but not essential.
