Primary School HLTA
We are currently recruiting for an excellent opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (or HLTA) to cover for a sickness absence in a primary school near Burnham on Sea. The post will be for a minimum of 6weeks but could be up to 3 months.
The role will involve PPA cover and general TA work in class. You will be expected to take classes alone during PPA time, so applicants must hold, as a minimum, a Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Teaching and Learning, and qualified HLTA status would also be desirable. You will be expected to work closely with the class teacher, complementing their role though assisting and supporting them with individual children, small groups and the whole class where the assigned teacher is not present.
The pupils may have a range of learning and communication difficulties.
Previous experience of behaviour management and delivery of pre-planned lessons would be an advantage in this position.
The role is for 31 hours per week.
In order to be put forward for this position, Teaching Assistants must have;
* Eligibility to live and work in the UK
* Minimum of 2 terms’ experience working in a mainstream primary school
* At least NVQ level 3 in Childcare or Teaching and Learning is essential
