SEN Teaching Assistant
ITN Mark Education is currently recruiting for a part time, long term Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school based in South Bristol after half term. You will be required to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week – these days are not negotiable due to the requirements of the pupil. Main responsibilities will be working with a year 5 classroom leading groups of pupils with reading and literacy skills and working on a one-to-one basis with a pupil with challenging behaviour. Ideally, you will have at least 2 terms’ experience working as a general Teaching Assistant and experience or an interest working with pupils with special educational needs.
Due to the challenging behaviour of the pupil, you will have a calm, patient and friendly yet authoritative personality. This position is dependant on quickly building a positive relationship with the pupil. This position has an immediate start and youmust be able to commit for at least 3 months.
The school was judged as Outstanding in their Ofsted Inspection last year and they are keen to maintain this achievement.
SEN teaching assistants must have;
* Eligibility to live and work in the UK
* NVQ level 3 is desirable although not essential
* Experience of working in an SEN environment
* A good level of patience
