Location: Midlands.
12 Month fixed term contract
Salary £35,000.00 to £40,000.00.

Experience of end to end procurement direct commodity leadership within and Aerospace or automotive manufacturing sector. Lead end to end procurement negotiations and supply chain management for the Company’s direct materials and sub contract services. Our Client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of high technology heat transfer and fluid cooling systems for the aerospace and high technology engineering and automotive sectors. You will be a procurement professional with experience at senior buyer level to join their progressive and busy modern manufacturing facility. Take team leadership of a reporting buyer and expediter and lead end to end best practice procurement across a range of the business direct commodity engineered product and sub contracted supply base.

Management of a sub-commodity. Lead and selection, development and management of suppliers for the commodity team to meet the goals for cost, quality and delivery. Initiate and implement LTA’s with strategic and core suppliers. Manage key negotiations. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities to plan. Report all cost savings and price increases for your commodity. Manage source changes. Manage the supply chain on new programmes for your commodity area, including enquiries, negotiations, quality plans, process control and implementation to cost and to plan. Monitor current supplier market conditions, make appropriate recommendations and implement to best effect.

You will need a good understanding of supply chain management and strong technical engineering process understanding. Strong negotiating skills. Strong presentation and interpersonal communications skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability and awareness to understand and contribute to technical aspects of commodity management. Good understanding of lean techniques with the ability to advise and appraise suppliers. Ability to travel to meet and manage suppliers. Certified by MCIPS. Excellent understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma. Fluency in Microsoft Office or similar.
