Senior Engineer
Central London. Contract or Permanent. Site hours are 8 till 6 and it is not envisaged that there otherwise would be significant out of hours working. Strong recent experience required together with extensive experience in supervision of contractors within public realm utilities or roadworks projects. Engineering degree or equivalent.
The job is to ensure that drawings and documents in use are the latest and are issued for construction. Removal of obsolete documents from active files. Responsibility for accurate setting-out of works by using current drawings and information. Ensure that the setting-out information is understood by the General Foreman and ensure that it is being followed. Records will be kept for verification. Carry out the check on setting-out stations at a defined frequency to ensure their values are within tolerances as specified in the Contract.
Familiarise and practice the Quality Procedures, Inspection and Test requirements. Arrange for witnessing and verification as required of a particular activity by liaison with the Customer. Checking contract requirements, time schedule, specific materials requirements and resources. Raise Non-Conformances when completed or partially completed work does not comply with the contract requirements.
Follow the NCR until resolved satisfactorily. Monitor the Register of Non-Conformances. Provide input for and monitor the Site Diary, Ensure that any verbal instructions received from the Customer are passed on to the management for written conformation, irrespective of their cost or delay exposure to the contract. Prepare records for additional works or claims and submit accordingly.
